Targeted help for nail fungus:

In podiatry, cold plasma offers an effective supplement for treating fungal infections (foot/nail fungus), for example. The therapy is contactless and painless – ideal for sensitive or damaged skin.

Advantages at a glance:

  • Fungicidal effect by damaging the spore DNA
  • No systemic exposure
  • Suitable for vulnerable groups (e.g., diabetes, neurodermatitis)
  • Can be supplemented with conventional antifungal agents

Treatment: 2–3 times per week for the first two weeks, then once per week for approx. 10 minutes per foot, approx. 10 cm away from the nail. From the second month onwards, the maintenance phase follows with weekly application – in the case of nail mycosis, continue until the healthy nail has grown back.

Other possible indications in podiatry:

  • Ingrown, inflamed nails
  • Diabetic foot syndrome (non-ulcerated)
  • Rhagades/fissures
  • Wart treatment
  • Pressure points / irritation / blisters
  • Nail correction with braces
  • Small ulcers (with appropriate qualification, e.g., sectoral alternative practitioner)
  • Prophylaxis for sensitive skin

Cold plasma has both a disinfecting and regenerating effect, depending on the target structure. While pathogens such as fungi and bacteria are destroyed, vital skin processes are stimulated:

  • Stimulation of cell regeneration
  • Activation of growth factors (e.g., FGF-2, VEGF-A)
  • Promotion of collagen and elastin formation
  • Improvement of microcirculation
  • Strengthening of the skin barrier
  • The result: visibly more vital, smoother, and more resilient skin.
